Why this rewind exists.

Game Rewind UK is a nostalgia archive built around UK game release months. Search a game, pick a console, or browse a date and the app shows the wider culture around that moment: cinema, rentals, cartoons, wrestling, UK singles, and more.

What it does

Search by game, browse by date, browse by console, or ask for a random game.

Why it exists

This website is a labour of love. When I play a retro title, I like to take myself back to a simpler time, and immerse myself in the moment. Hopefully you do too.

The UK is apparently terrible at keeping records of release dates for all manner of media, so please take that into account when using this site and coming across a mistake or missing images etc.

Sources

The app loads its working data from the existing Game Rewind UK Google Sheet, so sheet updates can appear in the app without rebuilding the site. Cinema, rentals, cartoons, and wrestling cover art is from The Movie Database. Game artwork is from IGDB. Singles artwork is from YouTube.
